We Take You There! Political Analysis

August 26th 2018:

How will you vote in 2018?

The Stark County Democratic Party has work to do!

(Massillon; Stark County): You're watching it on TV; reading it in the papers and it's popping up everywhere on social media outlets; The Blue Wave'! Otherwise known as a projected spike set to support Democratic candidates in November.

In a nation that seems to be politically divided; the upcoming; 'off year' election could well set a major precedent for 2020; or; will it?

With all of the turbulence in Washington right now; it seems the very first place we need to look at is our own back yard. That same back yard has the undivided attention of many players from Capitol Hill.

Just so we are on the same page here; Stark County, Ohio is considered 'Ground Zero' for pivotal campaigns in many 2018 races. When it comes to party; our question is; who's ready and who's not?

THE REPUBLICANS:

Whether you agree with Donald Trump and his antics or not; Republicans have had to work
a lot harder since he came into office. Sometime for the good and sometimes..not! However; on the local level; it seems that Republicans throughout Stark County continue to be very focused and organized. As we get closer to election day; they will flex their muscles and do the work that needs to be done because; basically our local Republicans are unified.

THE DEMOCRATS:

The local Democratic Party seems to be a bit different. They are somewhat of a reflection of the National Democratic Party; disconnected! On the local level; our Stark County Democratic Party has a new Chairmen. His name is Sam Ferruccio Jr. When it comes to unifying the local party Mr. Ferruccio will have his work cut out. The local Democrats need to find each other and come together as one solid voice if they want any kind of success.

THE BREAKDOWN FROM 2016 TO 2018:

As shown in the above graph; the Red Ticket was dominant in both Stark County and throughout Ohio in 2016. Can the Democrats change that? One key this year is the female vote. With what's happening in Washington right now; many women are angry. Will that make a difference? especially with a surge in women candidates? We'll see.

THE MEDIA:

The other thing that we as smart voters need to be aware of is .. yep; you guessed it; The Media. Please remember that when you see an ugly ad ripping a candidate on TV; the money that paid for that ad comes from PAC's or special interest groups with agendas that have nothing to do with the real needs of the people. The same goes for those pop ups on social media.

The best thing we can do as voters is our own research. Over the next few months we
should work hard to get the right information prior to going to the polls in November.

With all of this division going on; let's keep in mind that our true hero's are NOT in Washington. They are the found right here in our own community. There are the teachers; the police officers and firefighters, the nurses, the mechanics and the moms and dads that work hard everyday to make our community and families stronger for each other.
